Hi Tami, Remember me I was one of your last lot of home students when you use to work from home going back to Dec. 2007. I just thought I'd give you an update on how I was going with the eye lash extensions and tell everyone a bit about myself. It took me a good month or two to get my confidence up doing lashes at first only on family and friends. Now I find it very relaxing for not only the client but for myself. I have approx. 15 regular clients now, that might not sound much to some people but for a small salon based at home Im really happy with that as most of these clients are referals from previous clients, which means they are happy with my work. I will probably only take on another 8 to 10 new eyelash clients as between all the other things I do Im finding Im running out of hours in the day to fit everything and everyone in. Other services I provide are Spray Tanning, Ear Candelling, Delux Facials, Gel Nail Overlays and I also teach dancing in my spare time (Pole Dancing for fun & fitness as well as other styles of dance). Im a mother of 2 beautiful children one boy 11yrs old and one girl 13yrs old. Working from home has given me the opportunity to be mum and business woman. I love being able to take the kids to school and pick them up, plus run them around to after school activities and partys. It sometimes gets a bit hectic but I can work my own set hours working from home. It took much longer to build a regular client base from home as you dont get walk ins as you would in salons but its worked well for me and who knows what the future holds maybe one day I might own my own salon in a shopping centre, but for now Im happy working casually and enjoying my family as well.
Speak again soon! Bye for now.

Of course I remember you! How are you? I hope you and your family are all well . I'm so glad to hear that your still doing lashes and that your enjoying it. If I remember correctly, you were building a big salon/studio next to your house. Is that finished yet? Is that where your doing your treatments now? I still remember your Siamese Cat with the funny tail and his obsession that he had on me while I was training you! He's so cute....
We've moved into an office in Nth Balwyn now, as Lash Out Lashes was out growing the home/office. Your alway welcome to pop in. Give me a call sometime to say hello.

Hi Everyone,
I was originally trained by Lash Out Lashes also. I had been doing lashes for about a year before I met Tami at a Beauty Expo. Originally trained by Graft-a-Lash, I was not that happy with the training they offered or the quality of the products. I took up one of her classes. She had retrained me from scratch as I had picked up some bad habits. Since then I've been working as a freelance lash stylist. I now work for Lash Out Lashes occasionally and help with the training. I love what I do and enjoy meeting many lash newbies along the way.
This Lash Chat forum was a project that Tami and I felt a need for. So many people are ON THEIR OWN after finishing their training, that they have no support or advice offered to them. I hope that the input from each member in this Chat, helps others in our specialised industry.

My name is Robin and I live in Newport R.I. I have been a hairdresser for 20 years, just got back into it after 8 years. Lashes have been a way for me to provide a different service that not to many people here on this island do. I have 3 children that are 9,18, and 23. My 9 year old is in 3rd grade, my 18 year old is in the Marines and will be deplyed to Iraq on Sept. 29th and my 23 year old is a teacher in Tampa. I started doing the lashes in October of last year. I am a full-time Uni Student and do lash extensions as a way of making extra money. I've still got a lot to learn in this type of work and think that this chat is so cool. Im learing heaps already. Now I just got to get faster!

Hi Everyone! This forum is great! I am aaaallllll the way from Perth and i have a salon called Chilli Creations, we do all hair and beauty here and hopefully soon we will be introducing IPL into our list of services too! I love eyelash extensions and have quite a few regular clients. There are still some people out there who have never heard of eyelash extensions before can you believe?! At the moment i am using Lash Beauty but i am STILL looking for my dream glue one that preferrably lasts more than 3 weeks!

Hi Chilli and welcome to the Lash Chat. Perth seems to be an upcoming area for lash extensions, however your right about people's knowledge. Some people are still a bit slow to catch on about Lash Extensions. Its a matter of advertising and educating them.

Hello My name is Annelie,im swedish, but Im based in Milano-Italy, i stumbeld upon this page since im always in the search about new things for Eyelash extensions. i started eyelash extensions as a "hobby" in 2009,since my main job is makeup and hairstylist for photo shoots,(more then 12 yrs.) After moving my self to Italy, and realizing their lack of experience here,i decided to take the final course of teaching the art of eyelash extensions.so in 2011 i became a teacher. The company i have my license for is Perfect silk lashes, know here in Europe. im very curious about the Australian market, and the use of Glue/lashes etc.... i got a new client the other day,(australian) that came in for a retouch, and her extensions where really so fine and invisible...so need to do some more research about that. Glad to be part of this forum.
