Need Help Choosing Lashes

Hello, Everyone!

I am new to the board and so happy to have found all of you! As I read through all of the different threads, I am realizing how much my training was lacking I am, however, determined to learn all that I can to be as good as I can as an extensionist!

I have MANY questions, but for now I will ask about the different lashes. I have been using only J curls, both .10 and .15, no thicker. As for my OWN extensions, I use mostly size 10's and 8's, with just a few 12's mixed in. The problem is not the length - the problem is that they don't curl UP enough for my liking, and they are also not very thick, so I just FEEL like they need mascara. If I am trying to get a thicker look (so no mascara is necessary), do I just go to the .2 thickness, and maybe to a C curl so that they will curl up more and so that you actually SEE them when you look at my eyes straight on? Is there a better lash to use than the C for this? Also, I'm wondering if you are using a C curl instead of a J, do you need a shorter LENGTH since they are curling up? For instance, I wear mostly 10's. If they curled up more, should I choose mostly 9's or something a bit shorter so it is not "too much"? I hope that makes sense. My natural lashes are very short and pretty straight, so I just don't get ANY lift out of the J's (several of my clients have this same problem). I'd really like to fix this problem! Also, I don't have much of a budget, so can you tell me where is the best place to buy these lashes cheaply, but not compromising quality? I don't have many clients yet, so it's not like I need 3000 of each size or anything. I just need enough to get going!

As a newbie, I would suggest the B-Curls would be easier to use. The C-Curls are more difficult to adhere, as they need to be placed on the side or crossing underneath the natural lash. When your speed and confidence builds, you might want to play around with the C's.

Now the thickness issue.
I use .20 lashes on nearly ALL my clients and they LOVE the thick mascared look, compared to the .15's. If your client has very fine lashes(usually Natural blondes or asians), then you might want to use the .20's just to set your frame and then fill in with the .15's. Just a suggestion.

I love my b curls as well!! I have to say they are by far my fav!!! I use them almost on every client with only a few exceptions.
Very easy to use adn just the right amount of curl!!

Hi Tami,

Regarding the use of the B lash, would you suggest attaching it on the side of the lash ( like the C lash) or on top of like the J lash.

Hi Bec, great question.

The placement of the extensions (Top, Side, Bottom) does not really matter. What is important is that the base of the extension is glued well to the base of the natural lash.
If it isn't, it can dislodge and poke/scratch the clients eyeball when she blinks.
So make sure you use enough glue at the base.

Normally, I do tend to be more a SIDE placer when I apply any lashes. But's only because, it allows me to bend and push the extension in the direction where I want it to go ;D

to simply end your suffering, simply grow your eyelash, I personally use revitalash advanced for a couple of years 1 3.5 would be enough to cover for the entire 6 months.

You could get these very cheap at brushexpress.com but if you know other stores that is good aswell.
