I've been using this new technique to be able to apply lashes faster and create fuller sets. After the extensions are applied, I tape them backwards onto the eyelid (at the very tips) to reveal lower lashes underneath. This makes it easier to get to those ones underneath and prevents any lashes sticking together. Here is a link to a photo that will help explain what I mean: i68.photobucket.com/albums/i17/starfish-enterprises/CopyofCIMG43151.jpg

I have just had a look at your photo Bonnie Great idea. I have been using the tweezers to lift the lashes to attach more lashes on the underneath ones. Also what tape are you using under the lashes.

Hi Carolena I've been using the foam tape to tape back the tips of the lashes. I cut it lengthways to make two long strips. I bought the tape from Lash Out - Tami showed me how to do it.

Hi Carole When your taping back the lashes, be sure they are completely dry. I use one of those hand held fans to dry off the lashes first and only tape back the tips of the extensions. Otherwise you'll have to peel each extension off, one by one...major nightmare..lol When you release the extensions you may find that the lashes are kind of sticking up a bit. I've been playing with a Mascara Spoolie to comb the lashes while I spin/turn it on the lashes. Seems to be working well. This makes them a bit more tame and presentable to the client. Hope this helps

Hi Bonnie, I use this same technique. It makes the application go so much more smoothly. One of the things I do is to work on one eye, then move to the opposite about 10 lashes per side. I return to the first eye and tape back the extended lashes. This allows for my adhesive to dry completely before I tape.
When I first started to do this, I ended up removing an extension with the tape. Not fun for me or my client.

Ouch ;D
Clarity, my technique is similar. I usually set my framework with about 12 lashes with different lengths on each eye, working between both eyes at the same time. Then I tape the lashes Back and fill in with the shorter ones. Makes getting those lashes underneath much easier.

Criserjs, its not a dumb question. lol A Mascara spoolie is a Disposable mascara brush, that is clean without any mascara on it.

Tami, You mentioned that you were looking at bringing in the Mascara brushes. Have you got those in yet?

Hi there, I just have a quick question and any input would be greatly appreciated. Ive been lashing for about 6 months now. Going pretty good. But have some retension issues like many i am becoming aware. I recently started using a nano mister, and wondering after I mist should i seal them right away? or try to dry the moisture first? I am sure this is a no brainer question but I just want to make sure I am doing it right! Thanks!

I LOVE the technique of taping back the tips and exposing the left over lashes . Using the BioGel eye pads makes this very easy and will not stick to any lashes or remove any of your work.
lashaddiction: I also use a NanoMister and the function of the fine mist is to start the curing process of the adhesive, which removes the fumes and essentially seals the bond. Holding the tool 12-18 inches away from the eyes is best you should not see any moisture or droplets on the lashes this will damage the bond and retention issues can arise.I personally only seal when using Bella lash extension products and their Intelliseal is an amzing retail product for your clients , especially the ones who have retention issues. It is best used 3-5 times a week and has an easy mascara wand applicator. If you are using only for back bar i recommend applying with a disposable spoolie. another tip to help retention is finding out the adhesive properties and function. For example if you are using a fast setting adhesive (1-2 second set time) do not sweep the lashes apply with press and hold technique. If you sweep with a fast setting adhesive you will create a fractured bond which will result in lash loss sooner than later. Also, having a temperature/humidity gauge will help tremendously as each adhesive has a specific working temp. Make sure you are replacing your adhesive regularly for best results and shake for a full minute EVERY time you are dispensing. Set a timer for the replacing on the jade stone too for example the adhesive I use The One by LAsh Affair is replaced every 20 min and without a timer its easy for me to lose track of time and retention is affected when using an adhesive "dot" that has been sitting too long.
I hope this was helpful. Happy Lashing!!!!

Hi, I have been doing lashes now for now for about 3 months. I seem to be getting better but I still have trouble with my isolation. I'm just not satisfied with my work considering I compare it to other lash stylish. Any isolation techniques other than taping the lashes you can share will be most helpful. What kind of tweezers are you using? What about adhesive glue?
Thanks,
