I know it boils down to technique but I was wondering how you all get the eyes to look the same? In regards to how the lashes sit not eveness. Im a righty so my right eyes rock and my lefts are not exactly the same. Does anyone have this problem? How do you combat this? I wish I could somehow turn the client around so the left eye is just as easy. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? ILashes4U

OMG....I know what you mean I'm a righty too and found my clients right eyes always look better than the left. And yes, it does come down to technique. Some people finish one eye completely before doing the other. I apply 3-4 lashes on one eye and then move over to the other eye, doing the same process until the full-set/fill is complete. Its easier to apply lashes on the same side as your dominant hand. Left handed Lash stylists probley have the same problem, but in reverse? So knowing I favoured the right eye more, I now make more of an effort to apply one extra lash of the left eye . If they look still look unbalanced when I'm finished, then I know its usually the right eye that is the problem and its easier/faster to fix ;D

I so understand what your going through lashes4U. I end up with about 7 or 8 more on the left eye everytime. Thats a great idea Tami. Will start trying that technique.

Dont' feel bad! I recently stayed with a friend out of town, and did her lashes as a gift - she never had any intention of getting them filled. Now at week 8, she has 4 lashes on one eye and about 18 on the other!

As far as having more on one than the other, keep in mind people shed differently in each eye. If I have a client that sheds at a different rate I do apply a few thinner lashes to that particular eye and usually it help for them to come back a bit more even for a fill. This is much easier with an established client and after you get to know their lash fall out patterns and home care.
Something interesting to share: I have a client who has dark brown lashes on one eye and platinum blond lashes in the other eye naturally. When I first did her set I put on more lashes on her blond hair lashes than her dark hair lashes. In Numbers I had to put on 65 lashes to darker lashes and on the blond lash eye I put 80, just for balance. I have to say, you would have never known that she had different colored natural lashes.
Anyway getting back to topic- make sure you are positioned properly while working and don't be afraid to adjust yourself and your client to get the proper angle.
