Hello! I have never posted here before, but have been reading a few posts on the board here and there to help answer some of my questions, I want to thank you all for the great information! I was wondering how long (in your opinion) do you think eyelash extensions are safe to leave on the lashes, assuming the client takes good care of them and is having them filled on a regular basis? I have a few clients who have had them on for a while now and am wondering if there is ever a 'limit' where they should give their lashes a break. Thanks so much for letting me post here!

Hi there, Lash extensions can be left on your clients for a number of years providing the following:
That she does not have a severe case of Blepharits That she washes her eyes 3-4 a week with Soap and water That you do not use the wrong length, thickness and weight of the extensions on her That her natural lashes have not become any thinner as a result of the above reasons.
I have had a client that started on 0.20 thick x 13mm long lashes. Her natural lashes were very strong and long and she washed them well and never got Blepharitis for many years. Over a very long period of time, I noticed the thickness of her lashes were getting a little thinner (still lots of them) but not the same. I reduced the thickness of the lashes to 0.15 thick and we progressed with that for another 6 months. Although she is happy with the way they look currently, I have suggested after 4 years to give them a rest for 3-4 months. I call this LASH REHAB lol. Her lashes will grow back thicker and stronger when its time for her next full set, although I will continue to use 0.15 thickness on her.
So it really depends on the health of the eyelid and the general well being of your clients lashes AND eyelid...if and when you should remove them. Sometimes the smallest changes in length and thickness can make all the differenece. You just need to keep an eye on her natural lashes....
