Hi everyone! I am reasonably new to lashes. I was working in a salon in which I was using lash out lashes for roughly a year which were great. Never had a problem. I've been out on my own doing beauty services now for a year and haven't been doing lashes. I had my order ready to go for Monday morning so I can start again but I've had an inquiry about the material of the lashes.. are they silk? No they're not.. My question is, what's the main difference between them (apart from the material)? and what do you use and why? Tamara

Hi Tamara, Eyelash Extensions are made from a light weight polished Polyester. We prefer Polyester lashes as they retain the curl better and don't kink and bend as easily as silk lashes.

Hi tami, Do you like faux mink? I use combination of synthetic and faux minks/silks. What about real mink?

Hi Evajune, Its a personal choice which type of lash you use. Personally I still love the individual lashes. However, the synthetic mink lashes are quite popular for the fact they are easy to pick up off the adhesive strip. I still have the same theory about Mink lashes that are made from Silk...in that they do not maintain their curl and tend to bend/kink easier. As for pure mink lashes, they feel much softer and are more 'fluffy' in appearance. However, there are a few drawbacks to pure mink hair. The main issue is that they acutually are made from fur fibre, which is much thinner than any extensions. The weight (thickness) is approx 0.05 - 0.08 thick, which means you need to put alot in to create fullness. Also another issue with these lashes is that the lengths are approximate and not exact, due to the way they are cut in production. So if your looking for a exact tailored look, it is near impossible. Not that that is a bad thing, as many stylists try hard to achieve that look! ....again it all comes down to personal styling.

Hi Tami,
I'm new to the eyelash scene & I've only been using the B curl 0.15 & 0.20 (polyester) which i do love. They hold their curl extremely well due to their firmness, However for a more soft & natural look ( for a wedding etc ) , What would you recommend ? Synthetic mink? And if the curl doesn't retain as well would you still use a B or a C maybe?
I'm open to all suggestions & also interested in what other people are mainly using too.

Hi I am new to applying lash extensions and only using the J curl at the moment. Some of the girls I work with are wanting Quite a curly extension. Should I use a B curl and if so can I use the J curl with it? Also I only have sizes 8-12. Should I purchase a 13 also? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks :) :)

Tamara Hi Tamara, At www.bondilashes.com.au we use a mix of mink, synthetic and natural. They are all different thicknesses and flexibility. Best is to have a chat with your client first and see what they want. If you have the right product to offer they'll stick around as a long lasting client.

I use a ton of C curl .15 and .10 8mm-15mm depending on the style I am creating. I have also been doing a ton of "lash additions" which is a menu option of adding colored lashes and clients love it ! Purple is the most popular and I add 5-6 lashes per eye . A new lash concept I am liking is the Matte Lash this is perfect for the clients who dont like the shininess of the synthetic lashes which can make the lashes "look plastic " (clients words) j curl- low curl degree ( ideal for natural flat lashes great to have on hand but not used too often) B curl - basic curl ideal for natural lashes that have little to no curve C curl- Classic curl most commonly used D DRamatic for those who want a bold look
and other special curls L, L+ awesome for hooded lids!
MOLLYGUEST Having 13mm on hand is recommended this is the length i use for the colored lashes application however make sure you arent using a lash that is too heavy or long I recommend not exceeding 2-3mm of the natural length . If you use a lash that is too heavy or long you are putting stress on the natural lash and overtime this can lead to lash loss and tilting of the extension which can make your application process frustrating and the longevity of the lashes will go down. I love LASH AFFAIR and BELLA LASH lashes whcih i order from Aesthetics Pro Supplies
I hope this was helpful. Happy Lashing!

We are fairly new to lashing here, too. We are in north Whitby, north-east of Toronto (eh!). The standard around here seems to be c-curl, faux-mink, 9-12mm lengths. But my business partner and I prefer cashmere lashes because they're super light-weight and matte finish for a more natural look, and they have slightly feathered ends which make fine lashes look fuller. We also use a lot of d-curls, pretty much exclusively on clients aged 50+. We are trying to develop a niche specializing in aging clients.

A doll look you can achieve in different ways: mascara, magnetic eyelashes or extensions. But lifting eyelashes is more and more popular now yumilashes.com.au/shop/?page=1 this procedure, which tightens the eyelashes, with help of special tools strengthens and nourishes them with vitamins.

I've recently discovered 3D premade volume fans and I have got to say, I'm never going back to making my Russian volume lashes by hand. The time saving is huge! And my clients love them!
