Hi all, Hoping someone can help us. We have a client who has very long straight lashes & wants a fairly tight curl to them. We can't use the small rods as the lashes are too long, large rods won't give her the curl she wants & we've tried the medium rods but she didn't get much of a curl. Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks

Hi Tanbea Isn't it annoying when you spend so long doing a lash perm and the client isn't happy with the results. It sooo frustrating I don't do many lash perms these days, but when the call arises, I turn to the Ellebana lash perms. It sound like its more a product problem that your having, rather than a roller/rod concern. Either the medium or large rods should do the trick, quite nicely. Which products are you using? How long are you leaving the perm solution and neutraliser on for? The small rods won't be any good for long lashes - her lashes would be 'circular' ;D. The large ones are great if you can get the lashes to go right around the rods. I use the eyeputti silcone glue to hold the lashes down onto the rod. The lashes stay on the rod, no matter how many eyewashes you do and easily comes off after the perm. I use a lash comb to remove any of the eyeputti afterwards.

I've never done a lash perm before or ever seen one. Can you apply extensions on someone that's had a perm? - Just in case

I've done a perm on someone and then due to unhappy results she ended up getting the extensions which is what she really wanted in the first place but was trying to pinch her pennies. I waited about 2 weeks to be on the safe side because I didnt really know for sure if it was safe right after. Robin

Bonnie, If the lashes are not damaged too much from the perm- yes you can apply extensions on them . You may find however that the lashes MIGHT be too curly to apply a J-Curl on them and you might only get the bottome 1/2 the extension to bond. Sometimes if the perm is not done correctly, it makes the natural lashes go in sorts of weird directions - making your application even harder to apply. I would tell these clients to wait until the perm has dropped before lashing them. 6-8 weeks time

Hi tami, Yes, I'm using the Ellebana brand. I left the solution on for 14mins & the neturaliser for 7 mins. I think I'll take your advise & try the larger rods as you explained. Thanks so much

Tanbea, I use the Ellebana Perm stuff also, but I leave the neutraliser on for about 9-10 mins. Like the hairdressing trade - Its not the Perm Solution that curls the lashes, its the neutaliser that makes the curl.
