Hello Lashers!
So I have been getting my eyelashes done for about six months and doing them for three... I got mine filled this week and within 12 hours my eye was puffy/swollen/red/itchy. Looks like an allergy to me, but its only on ONE eye. No crusting, white bumps, nothing...
This also happened 2-3 weeks ago when I got my usual fill. same eye, but not as bad... so I removed them unsure whether my extensionist was unsanitary or what because it was only one eye, almost immediate releif and it went away...waited to reapply...but again same reaction this time.... probably slightly worse! So do you think I have just developed an allergy to the glue? We haven't switched glue or anything strange that I can think of? And It seems odd to me its only one eye?
From what I understand If it is an allergy I will basically be allergic to all glues? She used NovaLash's Platinum Bond on me which has seemed to work fine in the past?
Help I LOVE LOVE my lashes, ( red hair/blond lashes!) so they have been amazing... I would hate to give them up especially since I'm so new to the biz I am still building a clientele and having lashes in helps!
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Jennifer

Jennifer- I see this sometimes. I normally do about 25 fills per week and so we see quite a few clients of which some of them have developed this allergic reaction after 10 months of wearing lashes with no reaction. It is an allergy to the glue. Even though it isn't touching your skin, the fumes are. It's a form of dermatitis. You have a couple options. We have an Eye Dr that will prescribe Toberdex (something like that). It is a steroid cream that is applied before and after application. It helps. However, that doesn't actually solve the problem, which is your adhesive. I hope this helps and therefor you can continue to wear your lashes. Brooke

Hi Jennifer, How terrible for you I can understand why you persevere with the extensions, as they are part of your advertising. Allegies are very rare - Usually one in 150 clients will have an IMMEDIATE 48HR allergy reaction. Even more rare, is an allergy that later develops. The fact that your reaction occured on ONE eye only clearly indicates this is NOT a glue allergy. Blepharitis, Dermatitis, Chemical Pink Eye, Viral Pink Eye or just a bad application is reason this is happening to you. 95% of Lash adhesives contain the same ingredients, just different percentages (unless they are Latex based). You can try changing glues, but unless you get your eyes checked over by a Eye Specialist..... you will inevitably react the same way.

Update: So I believe its definitely an allergy. I have not had extensions on since my last post. And have bought a different glue, had just four eyelashes put on my eye, and same reaction within 12 hours. Red, Swollen, Itchy. So frustrating! I googled the Toberdex and online it looks like its eye drops? Maybe I'll have to give that a go.?? Thanks for all your feedback ladies! Jennifer.

Jennifer, can I say.....I told you so Changing glues won't make much difference. I still think you ought to see someone (eyespecialist), especially if its NOT happening to both eyes. Like I said, an allergy will occur to BOTH eyes. As for the Toberdex, I do not know this product or what it is used for....so I can't comment on it (sorry).

I think that everything typed was very logical. But, think about this, what if you were to create a awesome headline? I mean, I don't want to ell youu how to ruun your website, however suppose you added something that akes people desire more?I mean Allergy? | Message Board is a little boring. You might look at Yahoo's front page and see how they create article titles to grab people to open the links. You might try adding a video or a elated picture oor two to get people excited about everything've got to say. Just my opinion, it cluld bring your blog a little bit more interesting. 6002818e85dbf.site123.me/blog/the-one-4-college-essay-writing-tips-you-ll-ever-wantEssay is a really reasonably reasoonably priced essay creating services. cheap essays cheap essays
