Hi all! I just purchased some mink lashes and had them put on my lashes.....I love how soft they are! Do you charge any different price for the mink lash application vs. other lashes? I have heard that I should be charging more for these....

Hi Aphorodite, Glad to hear you like the Minks. I charge an extra $20 per full set for the Minks, but my refill charges I keep the same price. I'd look around and see if anyone else in your area is offering them and what the Competition is charging. Its up to you really.

Thanks Tami! I really do love the minks...does anyone else have feedback on them? Does anyone else offer a choice? What do your clients say about them? What do you feel the differences are? Thanks for any input....

I'm must admit, I'm a creature of habit. I still like my individual eyelashes. I have not done heaps of Mink full-sets and I'm a bit unsure about adding them into a normal (individual lash) refill. The clients that I have applied them - adore them. But then again, these are women that have never had lash extensions before and have nothing to compare them to. I continue to maintain their lashes with the minks and they look quite beautiful and full & fluffy. What I do like about the Minks, is that you can pick up one or two at a time, or you can pick up a clusters of 4 or 5 at a time. Obviously the best thing about them is they are so light and the clusters of 4 or 5 are not too heavy for a natural lash to support. There is no limit to what you can do with the Minks . You can create a very natural looking lash line or a real Maralyn Munroe look. Like your imagination.....the skys the limit!

I like the minks .... although I find they are a bit slippery and if the glue isn't just about dry can slide off the natural lash!
I have some minks that are super-soft and others that are quite rigid and hard .... go figure!

I lovveeee the minks. I have just begun using them after having them for months. I can't say I'm replacing my reg lashes but I find them extra natural looking, they look great on blondes with light eyes- a bit softer than reg lashes.
on darker hair girls they still look fab but really the most natural look of all lashes i found.
they will not replace my love for lash-outs designer curls but they are nice to have in my box of tricks :-)
I will be creating a Signature set for myself which I will charge more for the set and fills. I am thinking of 425 for a set of 80-90 lashes per eye (+$50 from my diva set of reg lashes of 80 lashes per eye and my fills will be 140 instead of 120. The products cost me more so I feel that I do have to pass on the cost to the clients. In nyc I def feel that i could justify the cost. Most places that offer minks here charge more for them as well.

Thanks for all of your thoughts! I absolutely love the minks for myself, they are so soft. I actually think they last longer because they are super flexible.....we"ll see how my returns/fills look like when they come in....hopefully my clients have the same success with them! I just started using them....
By the way, how do "designer curls" differ from "B" curls?

The Minks and the Rapids are my fav specialty lashes. I use the Rapids to create my structure and fill in-between with the individual lashes. I only use the Minks when the client's wanting WOW factor. I apply the minks as clusters (5-6 lashes) at a time on the outer 1/2 and apply 2 at a time on the inner eye.

eyecandy please will you explain your mink application in more detail. Don't the clusters "clump"? How do you place the clusters on the lash? How do you keep them from looking like one mega lash or keep them separated? Plse detail as much as possible as I have no experience with Rapids or minks and this sounds like a technique I would love to try. Thank you.

lashesunlimited- Firstly, I use the Flash Lash glue that sets really quick. Its important to use a fast drying glue for this type of work, that is not too thick and gluggy. Makes isolation easier too.
The Minks can be pulled of the adhesive tape one by one or in bunches. Depending on the thickness of the clients lashes:
For thick lashes- On The outer 1/2 of the eyes I put on a bunch of 4-5 mink lashes and then a bunch of 2-3 mink lashes between in a shorter length. For fine lashes- On The outer 1/2 of the eyes I put on a bunch of 3-4 mink lashes and then a bunch of 2-3 mink lashes between in a shorter length.
The minks are very lightweight and suit everyone. The variation in lengths and number of minks per bunch varies, depending on your styling and the thickness of the clients natural lashes. They take a while to get use to, but I really like the effect they create.

eyecandy, do you have any pics of the application with the multiple minks on a lash. I am curious to see how it looks.
I have been thinking of a bit out of the box applications, a bit more dramatic looks. could be fun to play a bit ;D

Eyecandy - Thank you for your explanation but forgive me, I still don't get it.....do you apply clusters of 4-5 mink lashes to one natural lash? Can you explain in more detail for those of us ( me) who are so new? Thank you!!!!

Just had a client in today that had this style of lash extension and I have to say I didn't like it at all. From a distance they did look full and glam but after spending over an hour painstakingly removing them as they were all stuck together, rigid and most importantly irritated the client, I'm not convinced it's worth it.
Maybe it was a bad application and if there are any pics out there .....

aphrodite- Yes thats exactly what I'm talkining about. 3-5 minks on one lash. They are much lighter than the individual lashes and I use them like Flare lashes. I'll take a photo next time I do a full set, if I've got the camera with me.
