Thank you for posting this. I was really interested to see this as I had never heard of this method and the use of this product with eyelash extensions before reading about it on this forum.
The safety sheet raises concerns about its use on or near the eyes. Refer to the "Emergency Overview" which states "Irritation to eyes" and later under "Potential acute health effects" it reiterates this point.
It does not sound like this product is safe to use in eyelash extensions treatments. I would also question if the use of such a product would invalidate the therapists insurance, particularly as in my case this product was not recommended or available to purchase as part of the standard treatment.
I personally would not use this in treatments and think that further advice should be sought by anyone currently using this method.

I'm not sure I need to use the IPA method, cause I'm getting great results with the Flash glue. To be honest, I'm a little unsure how to apply it - so I just don't do it!

It's just rubbing alcohol. Cyanoacrylate isn't good to get in the eyes either, nor are the fumes. I use 91% isopropyl alcohol before (to prime) and after (to set). I have not had a problem with getting it in anyone's eyes. I use a disposable spongy eyeshadow applicator (some people use a mascara spoolie) and spray it with the alcohol. Then I hold the fat end of my tweezers under the lashes and wipe the top of the lashes with the applicator against my tweezers. Excess alcohol gets on the tweezers and is applied to the underside of the lashes (hope that makes sense). It dries (evaporates) very quickly. The only problem I have had so far was that one time I thought I had checked thoroughly for stickies and applied the IPA. When I was done, I found the tip of a lash stuck to an extension. I tried to pull them apart and I absolutely could not get it apart. I was able to see first hand how well the IPA cured that adhesive. From what I understand from other lash stylists that use it, clients don't have to wait to get their lashes wet either. So far, so good for me! Just make absolutely sure that none of those tiny lower lashes (or any others, for that matter) are stuck to the uppers! Hope this helps!

Francesca, Its interesting that you bring this topic up, as I put some of our alcohol wipes in my case to use on clients, but never got around to doing it. I was planning on using them to prep the natural lashes before doing a full-set (but forgot). I think it would be okay to use on natural lashes, but I'm not sure if the fibres will catch on extensions, or if enough IPA would get onto the extensions with the wipes alone? Something to consider

I have only used, and know of stylists using, the 91% alcohol. Please let us know the results if you try the 70%.

The alcohol that I have is 100%. Both the bottle and wipes. Dries super duper fast, but the odour is a bit overwhelming!

I've been using the IPA wipes on my clients lashes AFTER the application. I must confess, I was a little worried that the wipe might catch on the extensions. But amazingly it didn't. It was very quick, easy and convenient. Not as messy as applying the liquid IPA with applicators and bonus: totally disposable!
I was unsure about how much IPA would actually go onto the lashes (ie. Not enough), so I applied a wipe onto my own extensions and I was suprised how wet they were afterwards. In saying that, my lashes have lasted alot longer and I was able to go an extra week longer between fills.
