Hi everyone
Had a client yesterday who suffers with her back and neck. I tried to make her as comfortable as possible with a pillow positioned supporting her back and shoulders and another under her knees. She was really good and didn't complain at all during the treatment but when she sat up at the end she did look like she was in some pain.
I have been told by a client that she had her lashes done in the Shanghai by a lady who made her sit bolt upright in a hard back chair (apparently this woman just came to the hotel room and made do with whatever furniture was in the room) and did I'm told a fantastic set of lashes, that apparently lasted for ages. She performed the treatment standing up.
I would like to know if anyone applies the lashes with the client sitting down and if so the position and success of the application.
On the whole most clients find the treatment really relaxing and are quite comfortable but I must admit over the two year period that I have been doing lashes quite a few have made comments about it being a little uncomfortable as they approach the end of the 1.30 hr treatment.
Any suggestions on client comfort of alternative ways of approaching the positioning of the client, without compromising the end result?

Try Elevating the bed so her legs are stretched out- but she is still sitting up. The more comfortable she is, the less likely she is to move around. Stand behind the bed and apply the extensions that way. If your too low, try a step stool to stand on. It takes a while to get use to working like that, but this technique is great for heavily pregnant women too.

I know this thread is a bit older but I wanted to add to this...
I have a pregnant client who cannot lay flat anymore since she is past 16 weeks. I have her pop in more frequent- every week to 2 weeks and have her sitting in a chair with a u shaped neck pillow. I ususally stand for the application and work very fast. I do 1/2 hour appts and her legs are on an ottoman. She actually finds this quite comfortable and it really isn't so bad for me either. It just takes some adjustment on our parts.
For clients with bad backs that do not like to lay flat, I put a bolster under the knees. Sometimes if they prefer and are more comfortable, I have them side lying and work on one eye at a time with their head tilted, BTW this can also work for a pregnant client.
