We teach our students to apply specialized lashes as the framework of their full sets. Some of you call them 'Bones' as they appear to look like fish bones
Rapids, Y's, C-Curls or Thicker/Longer J-curls can be used. There is NO right or wrong way to do this. It all comes down to YOUR unique individual style and creativity.
I love to use the Rapids or the 0.20 thick J's as my Bones and fill in with the individual lashes in a finer thickness. Generally I apply about 7-15 bones on each eye, depending on the look the client is after.

Tami,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I looks like about 20 to 22 on each eye. What are the lengths?

I start with my thickest lash width and set my frame. This is where I map it out the styling- natural, cat eye, doe eye whatever their eye needs to make it look it's best.
I use anywhere from 8-15 lashes to do this and then I just keep following my pattern alternating thicknesses and slight variations of length as I go along. Towards the end of a set I fill randomly to make sure it looks balanced and even.

Does anyone use the Rapid lashes to set their frame?

Hi Bonnie, I've used the Rapids to set my frame and they look quite dramatic. I rarely use them, as I apply them on clients that want a real WOW look and have naturally thick lashes.

Tami - I love the WOW look. I figure, why else bother getting Eyelash extensions.

I have a regular client who doesn't want the wow look. She's just looking for a little enhancement. Her lashes are very blond and she just wants to be able to see them

Most of my clients are modest with their length choice. Especially the clients 35+ years old. But, I must declare that I get really excited when the opportunity to use my 12's and 13's on the younger girls. More so when they want the Crystals on them.

I've noticed my younger clients like them longer too. I love the pumped full and luscious sets, as they are more fun and creative to do. Don't do many of the Swarovski Crystals
