Hello ladies, I've been lashing for a good 9 months now in Brisbane. I'm really interested in trying the IPA technique but i can't find a pure enough solution. The chemist said the strongest stuff they have is Isocol and it only 70% strength. He also said that anything stronger would be ethanol?? Does that sound right to you?

You can pick up some IPA from a nail supplier that sells acrylic nail products. If you have any problems, contact me and I'll put you onto one that I know of in Melbourne.

HI Carole
IPA is isopropyl alcohol. Several lashers use it to cure the adhesive after they have finished lashing. It sets the adhesive. Some also use it prior to lashing almost like a primer. If you do use it, make sure it's 99% as anything less will have too much water in it. Also be careful with it as you don't want any seeping into the eye. HTH
