There is a treatment program that involves scrubbing the lashline with cotton wool that has been dipped in Hot (as possible) water, with a squirt of baby shampoo. The hot water emuslify's the oil build up and the baby shampoo removes the bacteria. The mechanical action of the scrubbing with cotton wool breaks down the head of the blockage. All of the above help to prepare the application of the ANTI-BIOTIC oitment. The above instructions need to be performed TWICE a day (morning & night) for TWO WEEKS. Makeup and eyelash extensions cannot be worn during the treatment time. Any makeup used prior to the treatment will need to be thrown out, as it will be contaminated. You cannot remove Blepharitis once you have it.....it is a life sentence All you can do, is bring it back to a healthy standard that does not affect the growth of your lashes. Only once the condition is under control and the lashes look healthy, can you then have extensions re-applied. If I were you.... I would be more concerned with the health of your lashes than the cosmetic benefit of Lash Extensions.

Part of the condition 'blepharitis', is that it may result in infection at the hair follicle (eyelash). The oil secreted from the glands within the eyelids may become blocked with debris (dead skin cells). This causes an infection in the eyelid which can then spread to other lashes within the same eye or to the other eyelid. Blepharitis is a life-long condition which needs to be managed, but can flare up for numerous reasons (such as, low immune system, cleanliness, allergies etc.). As mentioned above, blepharatis can be managed uses these strategies, but these are not guaranteed. Other recommendations are taking taking 'Inner Health Plus' and 'fish oil tablets' to balance your immune system Good luck!

Good hygiene. because blepharitis can be an ongoing problem, you should regularly clean your skin and eyelids to keep blepharitis from returning. In addition to carefully cleansing your eyelashes, you can also wash your hair, scalp and eyebrows with antibacterial shampoo to help control blepharitis.

Hi Ashley, any soap that lathers IS anti-bacterial. Once you have Bleph, there is nothing you can do to prevent it from returning....it will always be there. All that you can do is manage the symptoms and not let it get serious.
